Knitters' Book Club  will meet Thursday, September 18th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The next selection is Manhunt by James L. Swanson. Non-knitters welcome, too!

Mystery Book Club usually meets the 4th Thursday of the month. Next meeting - September 25, 2014,  6:45 - 7:45 pm.

Ex Libris Book Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11am in the Adult Program Room. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 14th. The selection is The House Girl by Tava Conklin.

Job Seekers Program - Upcoming Workshops

New Sessions of our Job Seekers grant workshops will meet in September.  All sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. and registration is required as space is extremely limited.  

September 8 - Strategic Path to Employment - How to prepare yourself for the job search ahead.  There is more to it than just a resume and interview.

September 15 - Career Change - For those starting over or looking to change careers later in life, this workshop is for you.  Hands on workshop so users must be comfortable using computers. 

September 25 - Resume Writing Review
Join Career Consultant Gary Gekow for this hands on discussion of the resume.  All aspects of resume writing, including how to address key word search techniques will be included.  Participants will also analyze both chronological and functional resume samples.  Participants are encouraged to bring their existing resumes for confidential one-on-one analysis.  Reservations are suggested but not required. 

October 1 - Job Interview Workshop - An interactive and informal question and answer session where we role-play typical interview questions and how best to answer them.  The seminar also includes ways to avoid job candidates' most common interview mistakes.  Led by Career Consultant Gary Gekow.  Reservations are suggested but not required.

October 7 - "Tell Me About Yourself"
- Perhaps the most dreaded question in an interview is, "Tell Me About Yourself"?  This workshop will help you nail that question and refine your interviewing skills.  Discussion will be led by Career Consultant Gary Gekow.  Registration is recommended but not required.

Zinio is a mixed service - the library has purchased 50+ magazine subscriptions for our card holders.  Zinio also sells magazine subscriptions individually. To use the Library's Zinio collection, click on the link above to set up an account and to download magazines from the Bourne Public Library Collection. Once logged in to Zinio, switch back to the "Return to Library Collection" tab or window on your browser to download more titles.  We have a number of magazines to choose from, including Us Weekly, Runner's World and Men's Health.  The Zinio app will work as a reader with your Android device, tablet, I-phone, and other mobile devices.  Check out all the great magazines today.  You will need a valid Bourne Library CLAMS card to access the titles.  Click here for a users guide on how to set up your account.
