New England Board of Higher Education - Information on tuition breaks and bachelor's programs available with significant tuition discount at public colleges and universities across New England.

Students needing FSA forms from the U.S. Department of Education may use the following links to get them:

www.edpubs.gov is the ordering site for parents and students to get single copies of the hard  copy publications.

www.studentaid.ed.gov/pubs offers student and parent oriented publications in PDF.  Note that a number of items are in PDF that are not available in hard copy.


Book Clubs at the JBPL
Sports Book Club
will be taking a break for the winter months.

Knitters' Book Club will meet on Tuesday, February 28th, 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Our next selection will be Room by Emma Donoghue. Non-knitters welcome, too.
Mystery Book Club meets the 4th Thursday of the month. Next meeting on a special night  February 23rd -  6:45 - 7:45 pm. Next selection - The Key to Rebecca by Ken Follett.

Library Electronic Services Overview
Not sure about all the electronic resources the library has available?  Come to this overview session and find out.  We will show you where to get music, how to look up your ancestors, repair your car and, oh yeah...find free magazine and journal articles.

Program will be held in the adult program room.  This is a quick overview of library resources.  Come see what we have to offer with most things available from the comfort of your own home.



4th Annual Dewey Classic Mini -Golf Tournament
Sunday, March 4 from 10 a.m. til 4 p.m.
It's back - the 4th Annual Dewey Classic Miniature Golf Tournament.  Come play 18 holes of mini-golf on a course that runs throughout the library.  $5 to play ($3 for those 12 and under).  This event is our big fundraiser for the summer concert series.   Join us for a day of fun.  Bake sale and raffle will be going on too. 

NEW THIS YEAR: Teen night out on Saturday March 3rd from 7 p.m. til 9 p.m.  Middle and High School aged teens and tweens may join us for our first teen night out pizza and mini-golf party.  Cost is $8 to join in on the fun.  

Sponsors needed - The success of this event depends on sponsors such as yourself.  If you are interested in sponsoring a hole, tee or green, please fill out the sponsor pledge sheet and return to the library.  Families, businesses, individuals are all welcome to sponsor.  (Don't forget, sponsors get to design and place obstacles on their hole, tee or green).  For more information, see our donation letter here or contact the library at 508-759-0644.


Introducing FREADING - a new e-book source for Bourne Library Users

The JBPL is pleased to join an initial group of libraries across the U.S. offering Freading eBook Service.  Bourne library card holders can download a select number of books each week.  Freading has apps for the iPad and iPhone and its own apps for Android tablets and phones.  It is also compatible with the Kindle Fire, the Nook devices, and Kobo devices.  eBooks are checked out for 2 weeks.  Library customers have access to thousands of books and no wait is required for downloading.  You will be asked to enter your Bourne Library Card number. Boston Bruins - Cradles to Crayons Pajama Drive

The Jonathan Bourne Public Library is partnering with Cradles to Crayons and the Boston Bruins to provide new or gently-used pajamas to local children in need in Massachusetts.

You can make a difference by bringing donations to the Jonathan Bourne Public Library, 19 Sandwich Road, Bourne.

FREEGAL - Downloadable Music
The Jonathan Bourne Public Library is pleased to offer - Freegal Music.  Library users now have access to songs from Sony Music's catalog of artists.  You will need your Bourne Library card to access.  There is a limit of 3 downloads a person per week.  Click on the Freegal icon to learn more about and to begin using this great new service.  Funding made possible by the Cape Cod Foundation.
